As our child grow up and they become adolescents they face many new challenges and emotional problems in personal relationships with parents, friends and anyone in society. This is the reason that teens need special attention from their parents.

The consequences of those emotional problems in preteens are addictions, alcohol, drugs and even eating disorders. There are up to 4 million women in the USA with eating disorders and in some cases it becomes very severe.

The common disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimina nervosa and binge eating disorder, those disorders if not treat it correctly can even lead to death.

There are many signs in preteens that parents need to be aware and help them as soon as they notice them. If you notice that a teen is eating compulsively or is avoiding eating a all, using laxants, vomiting food, hiding food and you notice a strange behavior then you need to talk to him or her and if necessary ask for professional help.

Also, adolescents with eating disorders tend to hide their problem, they dont want help from anyone and in some cases they even think that is ok what they are doing and that is a lifestyle.

Give your family good healthy food with nutrients, create a good family environment at home and dont judge their behaviors without talking to them, if anyone has a problem with eating disorders you should support him and not just acuse him, emotional problems can be the cause of that behavior and the family support is very important.
